This book presents an overview of Islamic educational institutions and the types of schools available for Islamic or mixed education in selected countries in Africa, Southeast Asia, Middle East and Europe.

Holger Daun is Professor in Comparative and International Education at the Institute of International Education, Stockholm Unviersity. His most recent publications is Educational Restructuring in the Context of Globalization and National Policy (Routledge, Falmer, 2002).
Geoffrey Walford is Professor of Education Policy and Fellow of Green College at the University of Oxford. He has written extensively on education policy, private schools, school choice, religious schools and ethnographic research methods.
