In contemporary sociology, social philosophy and social theory Goffman and Giddens occupy very significant positions. But their works have been less debated in terms of existential concerns. In this work the author has attempted to look at this dimension by clearly making a distinction between continental existentialist philosophy and what he terms as existencialism. In other words, the author seems to suggest that we have universal existential concerns which have not been addressed within the frame of existentialist position, on the one hand, and we are, on the other hand, able to approach the discourses of Goffman and Giddens from the position of Existentialicism.
