Knowledge of internal anatomy of tooth plays an important role in successful endodontic treatment. One of the most common reasons for failures in such a treatment is insufficient knowledge of internal anatomy of teeth, which can cause errors in diagnosis and treatment plan. For a successful endodontic treatment, it is not only important to know the normal anatomy of tooth¿s interior but one must also know the its possible different morphologic variation. It is important to be familiar with variations in tooth anatomy and characteristic features in various racial groups as such knowledge can aid location, negotiation and management of canals.
