Orality has been embraced by many as an effective evangelistic strategy in the form of chronological Bible teaching and storytelling. Nevertheless, most churches, mission agencies, and institutions of theological education continue to neglect orality when it comes to discipleship and leadership training. The assumption is that to become mature in the faith and to "teach others also" (2 Timothy 2:2), a transition to literacy is necessary.
The contributors in this volume make the case that oral learners can be effectively discipled and trained for mature, advanced Christian leadership using entirely oral processes.
