Daniel writes murder mysteries and wants to get back together with his ex, Tad. Their breakup hurt him, deeply, yet he still loves the guy and it's driving him nuts. Then Tad appears at Daniel's job and begs him to help rewrite two of his books into a series for cable. If Daniel does, he gets a week in Bermuda, with Tad, to try and rekindle their love. If not, he loses the guy, forever.
But part of the deal is Daniel has to do the writing in Tad's summer lodge, to keep the project quiet. Despite it being the dead of winter and having to get the scripts ready within seventy-two hours, Daniel agrees. Naturally, a blizzard roars in, trapping him there as that "isolated lodge" becomes filled with the chaos of mystery, suspense, lies, sex, betrayal, seduction, revenge, murder, fist-fights, confusion, frostbite, nudity, gunfire, predatory females, homophobic males, an obnoxious caretaker, a hot shower with people who don't exist, a blazing fireplace, wistful dreams, bizarre shower curtains, shredded clothes, off-key Sit-com music, secrets in shadows, crooked politicians, bribery money, a hermit who hates everything except chipmunks, and romance with the proper stranger.
It sure doesn't help that Daniel's fictional detective, Ace Shostakovich, has come along for the ride, bitching and snarking as he tells the story, leading Daniel to wonder if what's happening is real, or if losing Tad has driven him completely insane and he is now trapped in one of his books.

Kyle Michel Sullivan is a writer and self-involved artist out to change the world until it changes him, as has already happened in far too many ways. He used to write screenplays, but now he has written books that range from sunshine and light (David Martin) to cold and dark (How To Rape A Straight Guy, which has been banned a couple of times) to flat out crazy (The Lyons' Den) to mainstream (The Alice '65) to a tale of tragedy and redemption (Bobby Carapisi). He has also written murder mysteries (Rape in Holding Cell 6, The Vanishing of Owen Taylor, and Underground Guy), and is working on an erotic gay vampire series titled Blood Angel, that will be in several e-book parts.Most of his novels are gay-oriented but not all. Many contain intense sexual content that fits the erotica category, but not all. Some are even romantic and tender. As he says, he's written what he's written, and each one of those books got him one step closer to this point. He tries to build characters as vivid and real as possible and has a lot of fun doing it mixed with angst, anger, and amazement ... but that's the lot of a writer.
