One of the nation's most colorful leaders, Confederate general John Hunt Morgan, took his cavalry through enemy-occupied territory in three states in one of the longest offensives of the Civil War.

A military operation unlike any other

Cincinnati native David L. Mowery has lived along the path of Morgan's Raid for most of his life. In 2001, he joined the Ohio Civil War Trail Commission as its Hamilton County representative and was involved in the final design and historical validation of of the entire length of the John Hunt Morgan Heritage Trail of Ohio.
