The book introduces SFTS as a research field, tracing its development and situating the contributions of the 7 scholars interviewed within this tradition. This volume will be of particular interest to scholars in translation studies and systemic functional linguistics, as well as those interested in innovations in linguistic theory.

Bo Wang is lecturer in the School of Translation Studies, Jinan University, China. His research interests include Systemic Functional Linguistics, translation studies, discourse analysis and language description. He is co-author of Lao She's Teahouse and Its Two English Translations (Routledge, 2020) and Introducing M.A.K. Halliday (Routledge, 2022).

Yuanyi Ma is lecturer in the School of International Cooperation, Guangdong Polytechnic of Science and Technology, China. Her research interests include Systemic Functional Linguistics, translation studies, discourse analysis and educational linguistics. She is co-author of Translating Tagore's Stray Birds into Chinese (Routledge, 2021).
