HIKE MORE THAN 70 TRAILS AND GREENWAYS IN THE HUNTSVILLE METRO AREA

From rugged mountain trails to paved greenway paths, Huntsville native Marcus Woolf offers a guide to over 70 trails in the Huntsville metro area. For more than 25 years, Woolf has worked as an outdoor writer. His work has appeared in national magazines like Backpacker and Outside, and he is the author of the guidebooks Hiking Huntsville Vol. 1 and Afoot & Afield: Atlanta (Wilderness Press). In Hiking Huntsville Vol.2, he provides thorough descriptions of the local terrain and identifies trail highlights, such as and scenic overlooks, waterfalls and historical landmarks.

Hiking Huntsville Vol.2 offers choices for everyone, from families with children to casual hikers to trail enthusiasts. This guide includes trails on Keel Mountain, Chapman Mountain, Wade Mountain and Rainbow Mountain. It also covers Hays Nature Preserve, Dallas W. Fanning Nature Preserve, the U.S. Space &Rocket Center trails and more than a dozen greenway paths in the Huntsville metro area.

Each trail description includes:

· Essential trail information, including distance, hiking time and difficulty

· Summaries of the trail's significant and best features to help you determine whether the hike is right for you

· Thorough hiking directions and details about the terrain and environment

· Notable waypoints along the trail, such as trail junctions, natural features and historical areas

· GPS coordinates for each waypoint

· An easy-to-read map that includes waypoints

Marcus Woolf has worked as an editor and writer for outdoor adventure magazines and other media for more than 25 years. His writing has appeared in publications such as Outside and Backpacker. As a native of Huntsville, Marcus grew up on Monte Sano Mountain, where he discovered his love for hiking. After living in California for eight years, he returned to Huntsville to be closer to family and Alabama football. In 2009, Wilderness Press published his first hiking guidebook, Afoot & Afield: Atlanta. When he isn't mapping trails for books, Marcus enjoys backpacking, canoeing and kayaking with his wife, Wendy.
