Stephen Gersh is Professor of Philosophy in the Medieval Institute, University of Notre Dame and a former Fellow of Magdalene College, Cambridge. His numerous earlier books include From Iamblichus to Eriugena (Brill, 1978) and Reading Plato, Tracing Plato (2005).

This volume deals with the relation between Derrida and Neoplatonism (ancient, patristic, medieval), presenting that relation in the form not only of the actual reading of Neoplatonism by Derrida but also of a hypothetical reading of Derrida by Neoplatonism.
