Biografische Anmerkung

The book considers the self-driving car (SDC) designed as the most recenttype of cyber physical system. The vehicle is highly sophistic and fullyautonomous. For the mobility the car need not the human driver. Untilrecently this concept was only a scientific fiction, but nowadays, due tohigh STEM and IT technologies, the realization of the self-driving car isour reality. The technical aspect of SDC includes the perception, navigation andcontrol system. The decision making system is based on the principles ofthe artificial intelligence which includes the best achievements in thecognitive science. Thanks to the SDC broad networking it is able toconfigure the best route to a destination thus offering the usersopportunity to use their time in a more meaningful way (for example:working, resting, sleeping, reading, etc.). The SDC is believed to be muchsafer than conventional car and is expected to be the non-accident car.SDC is proclaimed to have success in sustainability and to make asignificant contribution in reducing emission due to vehicle design andthrough increase of traffic efficiency.
