Esthetics is an advancing field in prosthodontics. Level of esthetic requirement in clinical practice has increased over the past decade. It is made necessary for the dentist to explore this field to satisfy the existing demands of the patients. Introduction of digital tools has contributed to satisfactory and predictable esthetic outcomes.Prosthodontic therapy with use of characterized prosthesis compared to conventional prosthesis aids the patient in developing proper speech, enhanced esthetics and may have dramatic social and psychological benefits for these patients.This book describes the various methods to produce more lifelike esthetic and functional prosthesis mimicking the patients anatomy. It ultimately lies in the skillful hands of the clinician to provide the esthetic component of the prosthesis. Characterization of prosthesis should be followed by us as prosthodontists because we owe the power to restore our patients back with the same smile as before.
