The research work is related with the nuclear electric quadrupole moment measurements in Ta and Hf nuclei using the Time Differential Perturbed Angular Distribution (TDPAD) technique. Quadrupole moment is related with the shape of the nuclear charge distribution in equilibrium and gives direct information regarding quadrupole deformation of the nuclear state. As compared to the magnetic moments the quadrupole moments are known to much lesser extent. The occurrence of many isomeric states in spherical nuclei and deformed nuclei gives excellent opportunity to learn about the mechanism of building up higher angular momentum by measuring magnetic dipole as well as electric quadrupole moments, thereby determining the participating particles/orbitals and possibly the shape at particular energies and spin along the yrast line.
