This book is an attempt of doing in vitro propagation of Aconitum balfourii (Ranunculaceae),a medicinal herb.The whole plant is rich in alkaloids which are medicinally important.Because of its therapeutic properties of alkaloids, it is facing a great risk of extinction.So,in context of its conservation and multiplication, in vitro propagation was done. Also, Agrobacterium transformation was done for enhancing its metabolite production.

Monika Gondval born in 1987, studied at G B Pant University of Agri. and Tech., Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, for her P.G in Botany. Presently she has been doing her Ph.D.(Botany) from H.N.B. Garhwal University, Srinagar,Uttarakhand, India.
