Menara Guizardi holds an MA in Latin American Studies and a Ph.D. in Social Anthropology, both from the Autonomous University of Madrid (Spain). Between 2016 and 2018, she has completed her first postdoctoral degree in social anthropology, with a scholarship from the Doctoral College of the National University of San Martín (Argentina). Between 2018 and 2020, she completed her second postdoctoral degree, with a scholarship from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Research of Argentina (CONICET). She is an Associate Researcher at the University of Tarapacá (Arica, Chile), and a Researcher at the National Council for Scientific and Technological Research at the Institute of Higher Social Studies of the National University of San Martín (Buenos Aires, Argentina). Her main research topics are borders, gender, migrations, inter-ethnic relations, racism, and social exclusion. Her most recent books are "Des/venturas de las Fronteras: una etnografía sobre las mujeres peruanas entre Chile y Perú", published in 2019 and "Capoeira: Etnografía de una historia transnacional entre Brasil y Madrid", published in 2017, both by the Editions of the Alberto Hurtado University (Santiago, Chile). In addition, she edited the volume "Las fronteras del transnacionalismo.
Límites y desbordes de la experiencia migrante en el centro y norte de Chile" published in 2015 by Ocho Libros (Santiago, Chile).
