Daniel is a testimony to us that God never forsakes his people. Even if they are thrown into a den of lions, God is on their side. He will never abandon them. Therefore they should be faithful, as Daniel was, and persevere to the end in the strength of the Lord.

Hugh M Cartwright (1943-2011) faithfully preached the gospel in Scotland for 42 years. He served the Ferintosh congregation of the Free Church of Scotland from 1969 until he was appointed Professor of Church History and Church Principles in the Free Church College in 1990. He spent the last 13 years of his life as minister of the Edinburgh Congregation of the Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland and it was during this period of ministry that he preached this series of twelve sermons on Daniel.
