Maggie Fischer is originally from Oregon, but now lives in Seattle, Washington, after receiving her B.A. in English from Gonzaga University. The daughter of a children’s librarian, Maggie has grown up surrounded by books and feels impossibly lucky to write and edit books for kids. She spends her time trying not to get worried about the increasing number of crows in her backyard, petting her enormous cat, Finch, and drinking more coffee than is probably healthy.
Luke Newell graduated in 2001 with a BA in illustration from Kingston University and has made a living telling stories through pictures ever since. His work includes everything from creating animated TV ads to Flash animations for the web and games for MTV. He now works as Senior Concept & Story Artist at Sony Playstation’s London Studio, working on exciting new initiatives in storytelling and technology. He has also illustrated two books and a website for Islington Play Association: the Cally Kids Play Inclusive Games and the Cally Kids Play World Games. Luke can’t remember a time when he hasn’t written or produced cartoon strips and short stories, but his interest in the short story format has increased over the past few years.
