In the 21st century the photographic image is increasingly integral to everyday communications, while, simultaneously, the culture of fame is participated in and understood by almost everyone.
Stephen Bull is an artist, writer and lecturer and is currently the Course Leader for BA Photography at the University of Brighton, Brighton, UK. He is the author of Photography (Routledge, 2009) and the editor of the Companion to Photography (Blackwell, 2015).
