Welcome back to Nic Thorn's world of diversions and distractions that begins on a golden beach in Port Douglas, tracks down to Tasmania, and up to the banks of Brisbane. This time Nic and his team have to investigate a wedded miss, the misguided pretence of a Tasmanian Tiger tracking, and banking blasphemy.
Rose Palmer never wanted to be a bride again, so this time Nic made sure it wasn't the short, fat, and shallow man that her parents forced her to marry the first time around. Together with her BFF Sandy, they move onto another tale, this one is tracking down the elusive and believed to be extinct Thylacine. Maybe the rumours are true, and it just might make an appearance.
Sandy then loses her identity, and Nic introduces them to the benign banking world. Much more is involved when the loan arranger is unmasked as a fraudster.
Some of Nic's past is now starting to come out too. Is he the man that Rose and Sandy think he is? Or should they say goodbye to the guy, who might be a spy?
